What would you highlight about Hostel Mamma Africa
We were given a better room than the one we booked for the first night. The manager was mostly very helpful. The hotel is close to the medina, which is great.
The manager was very flexible and helpful, but in the end I almost missed my bus, as he didn't arrange the taxi, like he told. In other occasions he was very helpful.

What would you highlight about Hostel Mamma Africa
Breakfast was always ready, event when we needed to leave early. Air condition in the room was helpful after walking whole day in hot city of Marrakesh. Very helpful and friendly host-owner of the place and other people working in the hostel. Very good place for couples or groups.
Lack of soap in the bathroom. It was a struggle to close bathroom door sometimes. Internal windows in the bedroom with the view of saloon. It could be intimidating, but window blinds gave us enough privacy at night.

Good conditions. Nice terrace on the roof to relax in the evening (especially appreciated by our kids ;) Great location, close to the Medina. Breakfast included Parking spots on the street available (non-free tough)

What would you highlight about Hostel Mamma Africa
The only person who deserves a compliment is the old man who serves the breakfast and watches over the place. With the owner and staff named Ramadan, don’t be fooled by their nice facade.
I can’t begin to explain how disappointed this accommodation left my family feeling about our trip to Morocco. To summarise the experience in one word, it would be “overpromised”. Don’t believe the list of amenities provided because it seems like the person filling it in just ticked everything to try to fool people. It also stated that every room has a shared bathroom so that was confusing. Every room having a TV, them having a coffee house of some sort is all nonsense. No cupboards or hangers such that we had to drape our clothes all over the windows and sofa. The aircon was one of my main reasons for choosing this accommodation cause it was summer and I was travelling with my parents so I wanted them to be comfortable. We ended up getting a room with direct sunlight coming in and the room didn’t even have a fan, what more an aircon. We arrived late so we washed up and tried to sleep but woke up perspiring like crazy cause we were being baked in the morning sun. When we finally saw the owner, we asked him for a fan and out came a portable aircon and it made everything better. However, we later found out that the aircon was taken out from someone else’s room so if you’re not in the one room that gets the aircon, good luck to you. This aside, our main issue with this place was that their staff who seemed very nice at first, named Ramadan, whom we consulted regarding tour packages, recommended us a package for 75EUR per person to see 3 Berber villages and ride camels with a sandy background that would allow us a “desert” experience without actually going to the Sahara desert since it was summertime and my mum is not in great health. Long story short, it was a scam and the tour guide named Hassan who seemed nice at first somehow showed us attitude towards the end, brought us to a camel ride near the road with no sand around and brought us to his own place instead of the 3 Berber villages promised.
